The sacred Attukal Pongala Festival was celebrated with great devotion on March 1, 2026, at the Shiva Durga Temple of Atlanta in Cumming, under the leadership of Kerala Hindus of Georgia (KHGA).
Over 300 devotees from across the Atlanta area participated in this auspicious event, offering Pongala to Attukal Amma with deep faith and dedication. The temple premises were filled with a serene and spiritual atmosphere as devotees prepared the sacred hearths and offerings.
The ceremony began with special poojas, followed by the lighting of the Pandara Aduppu using the divine flame from the sanctum. This sacred moment symbolized unity, devotion, and the blessings of the Goddess.
The event stood as a beautiful expression of faith, community spirit, and cultural tradition, made possible by the collective efforts of volunteers and participating families.
